That Night

Here it is: the second short story I've promissed you!
While the Strange Meeting was a British Council homework, this one was done in class with a partner (just as The Old Hotel, the very first short story I've posted).
In Strange Meeting, the only thing I had to do was to choose one of three different beginings (that's why I wrote it in the first person). In That Night, me and my partner had to follow a lot of instructions, such as incuding elements related to soup, chess, doctors and other crazy stuff in an horror story. You may now read what it all came to:

That Night

It was a freezing crazy night, and the city was covered with the leafs left from the end of that cold Autumn. Friday the 13rd would arrive just next day, in September 1993.
Tom Fisherman had just left his birthday party, and was driving to the city park. A thunderstorm was echoing through the city, as Tom's car was approaching the the city park.
As he had been drinking before, he couldn't find his way and went to the graveyard.
When he got out of his car, he found a witch staring at him.
'My name is Minastroni Soup. Please, don't go to that haunted mansion.' she sayd. Then, she picked up her broom and flew away. He picked a stone and threw it to the flying witch, but he was so drunk he failed.
He started to run to the mansion because he was too wet. When he got in, he found a ghost playing chess.
'Do you remember when you turned me into a ghost?' he asked with an evil voice. 'Now, you're going to pay for that. Checkmate!'
Then, Tom woke up. He was in an hospital surrounded by doctors. He had crashed into a tree when he was driving drunk. Two days later, he couldn't resist to the wounds and died.
Now, both of them (he and the ghost) could play chess forever in the haunted mansion.
He didn't Rest In Peace.

Kinda weird, but I liked it.
As a British cuncil work, I like it, but as a story of our blog, I think you could have put it longer and even more spooky. But it is good, since you had limits.
Keep up the quick and great writing!
