Fred opened his eyes expecting to see what he had looking for in front of him but he just spotted buttons.
From inside the machine, he could see he had been placed in a nest, almost in the top of a mountain. Mike and Horous were there too, loudly sleeping. His body was also demanding for rest and fresh air, so Fred pressed the exit button and the machine opened itself in its front. After doing some work-ups, Fred headed to the edge of the nest to check the view to the forest. Instead of the characteristic beautiful views of Horiond, he saw a devastated landscape: a huge creature destroying the forest where he had been some hours before. Only in that place, Freed was able to recall last day’s events.
He didn’t have much time to check who was laying in the destroyed landscape as the nest seemed to be moving backwards. Fred’s weight was creating instability, since he was lying on a side causing them to fall directly to the cliff.
“Hands Program, #2, activate!” Fred shouted with worry in his voice.
When they were on the cliff, Fred’s robot corresponded to the owner’s command: lightening itself, it let its arms grow and it managed to grab the cliff’s walls. Fred grabbed one of the robot’s arms, similar with a rope and Mike and Horous had peacefully landed on the robot’s main body.
Once joined with the two sleepy heads, Fred wondered. They hadn’t many chances now: they could climb but that could be difficult since Fred wasn’t that athletic without the robot’s help, who would be aiding Mike.
“Are you okay, guys?” a voice coming from the skies echoed in the entire cliff.
“Yes,” Fred spoke as loudly as he could “What is happening in there?”
No need to answer after the creature passed by them.
“A dragon…” Fred whispered.
Not a normal dragon. This dragon’s moves were out of control. He was still trying to recover its sight and without it, he was insecure and afraid. Rick shared the same feeling.
After checking if Mike and Fred were okay, Rick glanced one more time at the dragon. How could such a big creature be recontrolled? How could they solve this dilemma?
A Vince’s movement made Rick take a look at him. He seemed to have gained control of himself again, looking more confident at his Tourch art flying in the sunny sky.
After looking around probably to see Mike’s brilliant mind, Rick ran to Cassey and, grabbing tenderly her hands, looked directly to her face.
“You’ve had magical creatures’ classes to control the astral transmission… Please, tell me how to control this dragon…” he asked with a warming smile always in her face.
At first, she blushed immensely, but, eventually, let go her hands and placed them on her cheeks trying to chill them out.
“There is a way… but it is quite risky…” she answered looking at the ground.
The other girls were giggling with that conversation, especially Sarith, but Rick did not ignore them. Rick approached the younger girls with his typical smile.
“Can I borrow your weapons?” he asked pointing at the baton and the ribbon.
Ashley was rather surprised. What he could possibly do with two amateur weapons?
“Sure, Number Seven!” Sarith said cheerfully and handed it over to him. “Just don’t make any scratches on it, okay?”
He smiled at Sarith. She could even bring energy in a non-that-happy situation. Rick then turned to Ashley with Sarith smiling behind him.
She was reluctant to give it to Rick, due to the affection she had towards the baton, but many people’s lives were depending on her action… including his.
“Ahem, Rick… Save him, okay?” she let her face dive to watch the grass dancing with that slight breeze. Obviously, she was blushing.
Rick raised his thumb up catching her attention and making her to raise her head. Yes, she was cute… when she smiled.
Finally, Rick headed to the place where Vince and Cassey were staring at the sky. She looked beautiful: she had the slight blush in her cheeks but the sun light was illuminating her blond her, offering a celestial appearance.
‘This is no time to think about this…’
Rick turned to Vince then. He was looking at the sky, his so called home and the place where his best friend was lost. His figure was melancholic; Rick could feel the pain emaning from his pose. His dark sin contrasted with Cassey’s blond hair, but they matched perfectly in the landscape. So would say a couple…
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
Rick’s surprise eventually became a smile. “You are heavier than me, anyway.” However, Rick’s joke didn’t affect Vince the way the sword user wanted. He just wouldn’t stop staring at the sky, wishing his dragon to see him.
Finally, Vince grabbed the baton Rick had placed in the ground. Vince studied it. He had seen Sarith using it, but it was quite a elegant baton: not heavy but strong at the same time. Rick seemed confident: he didn’t need to study the ribbon. The baton was placed vertically to the cliff and Rick was already standing at the top of the baton.
“Let’s do this…” he whispered.
Without expecting, Rick was quickly lifted up by Vince’s strength applied at the bottom of the baton. To avoid falling, Rick grabbed the baton with his hands and freed himself at the highest point. He was flying? What was this amazing sensation?
However, he knew he couldn’t waste time with his futile feelings. As fast as he could, he freed the ribbon and easily grabbed one of the paws of the dragon. The creature felt his presence and started moving, so that Rick would fall, but the ribbon was quite strong. The dragon tried to free itself which made things easier for Rick who profited the balance to jump to the dragon’s back. However, it turned to be even more dangerous as the dragon had felt Rick’s warm skin in his cold body.
“Rick!”
The dragon was insecure and wanted to get rid of him. As soon as Rick took out Ashley’s ribbon of the dragon’s foot, he started a worrying movement balancing to the left and right, even backwards, to let his so-called enemy fall. And, at the next second, Rick had disappeared.
