The Haunted Tower - Chapter 9

Yes, I've finally updated the only story I'm writing here, which is now having 9 full chapters!
This one took some time to write, maybe because it was a bit boring, even for me. So, don't expect a full-of-action chapter (this might even be the worst of the entire story...).
So, you may cry, yell and scream: I'm back with another chapter, and I promisse you won't have much more (got it?)!

Chapter 9:
Broken

Eyodar stumbled on something and almost felt to the ground. He kicked it. Dawm stupid skeleton! He was walking in that stupid tower for a very long time and, since he got in the dangerous zone, after fighting with Ikkam, the guardian, he had already found a lot of human corpses, most of them reduced to bones.
The first skeleton he saw, after what it looked like an hour walking in that floor, was a big surprise. Eyodar was in pure horror watching a corpse in the tower, which meant there were lethal weapons and traps arround there. The skeleton wore a basic armor, but it was very rusty and even destructed, in some parts. There was no sign of swords or other weapons the dead soldier could have carried.
But the corpses along the way turned to be a natural thing. That cursed tower had already taken too much lives. He had to stop it.
He continued his way, now a bit more dirty, because of the dust of the skeleton. Then, something caught his eye: an enourmous room, with something strange in one of the walls... He aproached the room, and confirmed what he was thinking of: it was the hall of the stairs to the next floor.
So, finally found the fifth floor, he thought, smiling.
He had to be careful, though. The stairs had been the most tricky obstacles he found so far. Testing each step before moving the weight of his body to his front foot, he began to climb the stairs to ne next floor. The fifth.
There were three fake steps and a hidden spear ready to kill anybody who didn't see it. Not bad, but the last staircase had been much worse. This one didn't even have corpses!
Left or right? he thought, when he reached the next floor. Well... I've got to follow the right way!
He turned right and carefully got in the first room. It was a pretty small one, but had an access to a corridor, which would simplify his exploration task a lot.
In the end of the corridor, there was an enormous door, that Eyodar opened, just to see an empty bedroom. It was kind of strange: if that tower had rooms, they should have served for something, even if now they were just a labyrinth in an haunted tower. But Eyodar didn't remember other specific rooms like that one, where he could see obviously it had once been a place people used to sleep in that tower.
He decided to investigate that particular room.
The first thing Eyodar understood was that this particular room had something strange with it. Something... maybe magic, or maybe not. But it sure wasn't an ordinary room! His feelings of weirdness increased as he continued to explore every corner of that room. It wasn't something inside the room. It was the room itself.
He turned back, and suddenly got sick: he was now staring at Worroc, the ghost he was chasing.
For a moment, it looked like the entire world froze and Eyodar stared at Worroc for ages. But then, the ghost smiled and talked.
"So, guess you've gone this far", he said, sarcastic. Eyodar was still in shock. "What now? Are you going to defeat me or what?"
It was as if Eyodar woke up and saw his enemy for the first time. He looked carefully at the ghost, drew his dagger and prepared for the battle.
Let's see if this magic weapon is as good as that creepy grandma told me, he thought, before striking.
Worroc didn't move. Didn't even try to dodge the attack. It wasn't necessary: as the magical dagger touched him, it broke in a hundred pieces.
Eyodar felt a sudden chill and panicked. The dagger... was... broken!
Worroc laughed very loud and got out of the room. Eyodar was now completely static, with no idea of what to do next. The dagger helped him in nothing, and his enemy was moving out of sight.
How is this possible? How am I going to defeat him?

Big trouble, heh?
I liked the chapter and the suspense at the end. The sentence "it broke into a million pieces" is perfect for the situation. Keep up and post more often. :)
