Fifteen Journey - Chapter 53

A/N: A chapter for Fred fans! Don’t worry, I won’t forget him. :)

Chapter 53 – Abandoning the Journey

When Rick opened his eyes, the first thing he felt was food.
He realised later he was in a different place, probably a camp made by his mates, since the fire was still alive, but no one was around. His plate was there, right in front of the big fire.
As he ate the first piece, Rick wondered, looking at the shiny sky. It was night, so he had been sleeping for more or less seven hours. Indeed, he was better from all his injuries but the last events haunted his memories. Many questions about Sloan were continuously coming to his mind. First he made everything to win against him, then he’d give up that easily?
As Rick turned around, he saw two girls sleeping in some blankets apparently collected by everybody, since Cassey’s sweater was there are well. But Cassey wasn’t there. Ashey was sleeping like an angel, and Annya laid there with her head in the opposite direction. They deserved the needed rest after all.
Finally, he heard their friends’ voices approaching the camp. He would have been happy, if they weren’t arguing.
“You can not leave!”
Leave?
From the woods, they friends appeared one-by-one: Fred, Mike, Cassey, crying, and finally Elain. Noticing Rick was awake; they regretted having shouted so loud. However, Rick had other worries.
“What has happened? Why’s Elain here?”
Mike sat next to him.
“After you disappeared, we searched for you. Sheila followed us, but I guess she already knew you had won, as she told us that.” Rick looked surprised. “We found you unconscious here, so we decided to camp here. Besides, Annya and Ashley needed rest as well. Anyway, Fred and the other bow girl-“
“Elain…” Fred interrupted obviously annoyed.
“Yes, that girl, they stayed behind. I don’t know how she managed to brainwash him but he now says he wants to leave.”
Rick stared at Fred, who was trying to avoid eye contact with him.
“And which are your reasons?”
Fred finally looked directly at him, trying to speak.
“I am sick of this life…” Elain finally answered. “And so is he!”
Fred, after trying to calm her down, gathered courage to speak at Rick. “My robot has been destroyed during battle. Elain can be controlled again by that spell and be used to beat us. This is the best way out.”
Rick, full of thinking to do, laid on the ground and let the wind tap his face. He had been a fool all this time. His friends had their personal life, they wanted to go back home.
As Rick was doing all the thinking, Cassey approached Fred.
“Remember the day at the hospital… Is she the person you were looking for?” she said trying to clean her tears.
For the first time of her life, someone purely smiled at her. “Yes.” He then cleaned the tears from her face. “We’ll meet each other after Tourch is over, I promise.”
Cassey nodded affirmatively.
From all the awaken players, only Mike seemed angry. Leaving Rick now was, for him, an act of irresponsibility. He would look at Rick, Cassey and angrily at Fred and Elain, and then once again at Rick, hoping he would give them some kind of order.
“I understand.” Rick finally spoke. “You are free to go anywhere you want.”
Immediately, Elain shouted of joy and hugged Fred. She wanted to go back home very bad.
“But, you can not do this!” Mike stated. “We are a stable team already!”
Mike still argued, waking up Annya, but Fred ignored him and started the goodbyes. Rich, however, ordered him to stop and go before he would regret his decision. The truth was he feared the goodbye. After looking back once, Fred disappeared in the thick woods, lead by Elain for somewhere.
“Why did you do that? We may not be able to win now!” Mike was too noisy.
However, Rick laughed, shutting him up.
“I am an idiot, I have been it all the games. I forgot you have your own life, your own dreams. I have been very selfish…”
Both Cassey and Mike stared at him, unsure of what to say. Indeed, they had personal lives as well, but they seemed as they had forgotten them.
“We are back!” Sarith appeared carrying a full basket of fruit. Sheila was right behind her, smiling cheerfully.
Fred was not mentioned in the rest of the night.

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 52

A/N: Not in a good mood today... Only Fifteen Journey can cheer me up...

Chapter 52 – The Double Adversary

It was already time to eat. Although Ashley had that in her mind, she knew that remembering that to everyone would cause her psychological death.
Now, from the signs she should obtain from Mike, their aim wasn’t necessarily defeat Matt, but to keep him busy. Mike still hold the hope Rick could find a way to stop the barrier. But keeping Matt busy and not getting hurt wasn’t easy either. Having the barrier could be very good for him, as he could approach any of them. That was all Mike wanted to avoid.
Rick was back to back with Annya. He never imagined he would be in such a situation.
The silver lady had immensely increased her speed and was striking both teenagers. However, Annya soon got bothered and created herself a bubble so that the attacks would not have any physical effect. Finally, Rick laid down trying to rest.
“This field has magic all over it. We are battling a spell as well.” Annya clarified. “Either is Sloan who has such power or is another player. But, in that case, why would someone be protecting his enemy?”
Rick smiled.
“Is there any way you can stop the spell?”
She smiled as well, still concentrating in keeping that bubble. “If I could know the source of power…”
Rick didn’t wait for anything else. Seeing him lifting up, Annya broke the bubble and Rick advanced again towards Sloan. The silver lady quickly mad her way to him, which was blocked by Annya’s ball attack. Rick’s attack was, once more, stopped by the invisible barrier. However, he was smiling as he attacked.
“Anything?” he shouted.
‘No.’ she thought. Sloan did not hold any magic power.
Was it an object? A particle? Annya didn’t know that kind of magic as she had seen it from the first time now.
“The sky…”
Annya turned backwards. Cassey was staring at her, sure of her words.
“The source, it blocks the sky.” Not bad for a transmission user.
Annya raised her hand and looked with a challenging expression at Sloan. From her hand, a power ball appeared which increased its size as time went by. Cassey was scared, but that was the only chance they had.
At last, the power was freed. It exploded in the air, illuminating the transparent sphere they had been battling in. They fell right inside the trap but, fortunately, they unmasked it in time.
“It’s sparring time!”
Indeed, it was. As soon as Mike found out what had just happened, he charged at Matt. He was trapped. Ashley, using her ribbon, caught him and pushed it harder. Sarith, on the other hand, looked happily at her trophy.
“Looks like the fight is over to you…” she knocked him down using her baton.
Rick immediately commenced the attacks towards Sloan. Both Sheila and the silver lady tried to stop him, but Annya just blasted them. However, Cassey suddenly saw her falling.
“Are you okay?”
“I guess my body is too weak to heal itself. I’m still all dizzy from bleeding in the chest…”
Cassey knew what she had to do. Grabbing a stick, she whistled, catching the silver lady and Sheila’s attention. She quickly charged towards both, and was closely dodged Sheila’s bubble. The silver lady was indeed quickly, so Cassey was already in the ground in the third attack. However, she stood up and cleaned the blood from the corner of her mouth.
“This has just started…”
The silver lady was caught by Ashley’s ribbon, unable to move. Sheila, who was running to the place where Sloan and Rick were sparring, was surprised by Sarith who jumped right in front of her and directed her baton to Sheila’s neck. That way, Sheila could not attack or she would also be trapped in the bubble.
Rick, busy fighting, didn’t notice the place where he was now. As Sloan jumped backwards for a little pause, Rick could not recognise that place. He was still in Tourch, inside the woods, but he was not close to the place where his friends were.
“Reckless as always, Flaim…”
Suddenly, Sloan disappeared into the woods. Rick first thought of following but that was probably exactly what Sloan probably wanted. So, grabbing Thynia, Rick waited for his opponent’s attack.
Sloan reappeared in Rick’s back, pulling him by his neck, which was enabling him to breath.
“Stop… this…”
But Sloan was truly enjoying it. Rick had to let go Thynia from his hand, to try to free himself, which proven to be a quite difficult task. While he was trying to think of some technique to free himself, Rick felt Sloan touching in his arm, as in testing his strength. However, he was violently dragged to Rick’s front as Rick applied his strength. And grabbing his sword, Rick attacked Sloan, making him multiples scratches. Thynia, even all dirty, was motivated and was shining with a magical light. Finally, Rick ended with his sword directed at Sloan’s chest.
“Give up.”
Sloan grinned. “I do.”
Rick noticed Sloan’s hands moving towards his pocket but he wasn’t able to escape from the cloud of dust that Sloan created with the powder he had in his pocket.
Why had Sloan given up that easily?
Rick wasn’t able to answer this question as he collapsed in the green floor.

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 51

A/N: I’m addicted to Fifteen Journey! All Fifteen Journey! Let’s keep this rocking!

Chapter 51 – Untouchable

The silver lady wouldn’t let him strike. It was a equal spar, but he had been hit a couple of times and was hurt. They ceased the attacks for a moment. Rick, while waiting her next move, observed her. She wore a helmet in her head that would hide her face. The hair seemed metallical. She also wore armour but her metal legs were not inside the armour. Anyway, all her body was covered by metal, so having armour or not: her body would not be hurt. Not even Fred’s robot could beat this person, since it had slower movements. Rick, on the other hand, could establish a balanced fight.
Jumping horizontally, the lady attacked again. As she approached him, they were face-to-face, but Rick could not see her face due to her helmet. Once more, he could only admire her beauty as time passed.
Her attacks were done with her own arms. Her arms usually shone with the sword it was battling. Like Matt’s fight, the enemy had two weapons, but this time she was more quickly and, at the same time, needed to rotate more to attack, so Rick could defend himself better.
Once again, her arm almost reached his face, as her body was blocked by Thynia. They had been fighting like this for almost half an hour and Rick was finally getting tired.
Cassey shut her eyes for a moment. She could hear Rick’s fight, Sloan’s steps, the destruction caused by Horous and Sheila trying to free her power. Thus, blanking her soul would be a difficult task. Anyway, it had to be done.
Cassey forgot everything. She wanted to return to the past, when she could summon it quickly. But new worries had appeared, new problems, new circumstances. The new destiny she had decided for herself would not let her summon it.
She remembered the past. She wanted to win, before she had been beaten. Was that the difference? No.
Maybe the fact that she met her friends… was that the problem? No.
In fact, meeting them was a lucky shot. She learned a lot of new things concerning the world they lived in, death, life and relations.
Then, she heard water, known as they sound of relaxation. She cleared the black background she had made in her mind, transforming it into pure white colour.
“I summon you, astral transmission!”
A huge spirit rose from being her. The white sheets gathered to become all together a huge and transparent monster.
“Attack him!”
Cassey’s dad advanced in a never seen speed. Sloan quickly dodged the monster, and was obviously angry.
“You aren’t untouchable anymore…” Cassey smiled at him.
Sloan could just jump from on rock for another. He didn’t want to summon his art, the silver lady, but he knew astral transmissions could get through any kind of barrier.
While landing in a rock, after the third attack, Sloan realised the astral transmission was about to attack again. However, he wasn’t quickly enough, as he was hit in his back and landed close to the place where Matt was battling.
“SLOAN!”
Sheila was about to collapse. Inside the bubble kept by Annya, she could not control her anger. Indeed, her energy was growing with anger. She saw Sloan standing up again, but not quickly enough to stop the next attack.
“NO!”
Annya was dragged backwards as Sheila freed all her power and managed to go out of the bubble. Sloan was about to land in some other rocks when he was trapped by Sheila’s bubble. She was staring at Cassey full of anger. However, at Sloan’s movement, she calmed down and stared at her confident.
Sheila used a long baton for her fight, from where the bubbles were coming from. Before she left, Sloan took from himself a power ball, similar to those Annya charged her enemies with. Sheila quickly put the ball inside her baton.
Watching the scene, Cassey pictured her defeat. However, she wanted to avoid that, so she ordered the transmission to attack at once. As the transmission charged both Sheila and Sloan, both of them dodged, each one dodging for one side.
“Now! Break the transmission between them!” Sloan shouted.
Sheila didn’t hesitate. Using a bubble, she trapped Cassey inside it and the astral transmission automatically disappeared. However, instead of keeping her in the bubble, Sheila dropped her down and Sloan grabbed Cassey.
“Your battle is over, sweetie…” he pulled out a dagger.
Before he could penetrate her flesh, the dagger flew. Annya stared at him, prepared for a real battle.
“I see… You are the only one I can not stop…” Sloan smiled.
Cassey was still with her neck around Sloan’s arm but she clearly heard a whisper.”Vertigo, dark, attack.”
The silver lady interrupted her fight with Rick and advanced towards Annya. She wasn’t able to protect herself, so, as soon as she landed and looked at herself, found herself bleeding from her chest.
“You bastard…” she said at Sloan.
He just smiled. He let go Cassey, giving her to Sheila and opened his hands.
“Blast me if you want…”
She didn’t even think. Several dark power balls flew into Sloan’s direction but, as soon as the dust lied in the ground, Annya found Sloan in perfect conditions.
“Magic barrier, remember?”
As the silver lady advanced again towards Annya, someone blocked the attack. Rick.

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 50

A/N: Hi hi, minna! Ten chapters and counting!

Chapter 50 – Love Explosion

The attack was blocked. But Rick didn’t understand why. The silver lady wasn’t there nor had any wall been made. It could be invisible, but there was a barrier.
In front of him, the silver lady appeared. Soon, the two of them restarted the attacks at each other, before Rick could gaze at Sloan.
The enemy was now staring at Cassey, unsure of what to do. Noticing his look, she ran into the woods and grabbed a long stick. She turned at him once more, grabbing it just like a sword.
“So, now you’ve adopted Flaim’s style…” he grinned and stepped towards her. When he was just a few steps away, she stroke. Like Rick, her attack was blocked by some invisible wall, but Sloan also kicked her in her back, bringing her to the ground. Rick didn’t notice the scene, as he was still sparring with the silver lady, but Cassey’s intention wasn’t catch his intention, but to buy time. Ignoring Sloan’s steps towards her, Cassey closed her eyes and grabbed her pendant in her hands.
Annya’s job wasn’t easy at all. Grabbing Sheila in a bubble was easy, but keeping her there, plus keeping an eye on the entire battlefield was not easy at all. Sheila had an amazing potential and, the much she stayed there, the more motivation she could gather.
Fred and Ashley were some metres away, grabbing Elain. She could barely talk and Fred, inside his robot, could not stop his anger. Why had she done that? Why had she tried to kill him?
As she seemed she had read his thoughts, she tried to answer.
“Spe…” she couldn’t say it.
Her body reacted without any order from herself. She, profiting a moment of distraction, grabbed one of her arrows and tried to damage Fred’s robot. Since it hadn’t been used for a long time, his robot wasn’t damaged, so she did not destroy it at all. Her body then jumped to stay a few metres away from him.
“Stupid! I’m under a…”
‘Kill him.’
Another arrow was put in the bow. But before she could the arrow let go, Annya noticed what she was doing and prepared a blast of energy. When Elain noticed what was going towards her, it was too late. She just let go the arrow and bow and prepared herself for the impact. However, she was pushed away by a saviour hand.
As she landed in the ground, she turned backwards and saw his saviour’s robot burned. Fred quickly got out of the robot and, grabbing Elain in his hands, ran as fast as he could. However, he was caught in the explosion and still rolled a few times, still grabbing Elain close to him.
“Are you okay?” he tried to smile but the pain would not let him.
She looked at him clueless. How could he smile?
“I swore I would protect you, remember?”
She burst into tears and stayed in his arms for a long time. He didn’t mind if she could kill him in one second, he wouldn’t trade that moment for anything.
Due to the explosion, Ashley was hurt as well. But noticing Elain was under Fred’s “control”, she decided to help Mike. Their fight wasn’t going too bad either, as Matt hadn’t attacked one single time due to all his dodging from Horous’s attacks. The problem was that they could not hit him either.
As Matt approached some mountains, Mike profited it. Mentally, he ordered Horous to attack him by destroying the rocky surface, so that Matt would get hit. Without hesitating, Horous did so, and indeed, it worked, as Matt could not be seen. When they thought they had won, Matt reappeared, without a single scratch and removing the dust from his clothes.
“How did you…”
He looked surprised at them.
“You mean you haven’t noticed? I have a barrier, just like Sloan.”

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 49

A/N: Woot! I’m getting really excited!
Three more chapters and Sloan’s arc is finished. God, I can’t wait! :D

Chapter 49 – Loyal Team

What he was about to do was against his ideals, but which other chance did they have?
They were hiding in some bushes, watching their camp. Sheila was busy as always and Elain was looking sad at the sky. For their surprise, Sloan was there also, watching the woods waiting for their arrival.
Annya was the first to advance, as they had planed. She came out of her hideout, which was a few steps away from theirs and started the attack. With the same dark power balls she had used against Rick, she blasted the entire camp with several power balls. Some time after, when the camp was so dusty that she could not see a single thing, Annya found herself trapped in a bubble, which she could easily destroy thanks to her dark power. While absorbing the power of the bubble, someone came to her using ultra speed and kicked her hard in the face. Annya was dragged to the ground, some metres away from the place she was originally in, and, looking up, the person who had attacked her had disappeared. Soon after, the dust came back to the ground.
“Elain!”
She had blood all over her body, since she had been targeted with many power balls. Fred tried to run in her direction, but Sheila trapped him into a battle.
“We are in a fight, you know…” she said with a challenging tone.
Sloan appeared later, indifferent to the whole situation.
“Back so soon?”
Rick was obliged to come out of his hideout. Without losing time, he advanced towards Sloan, with Thynia in his hand, and attack circularly. However, something blocked his attack. As he looked ahead, another person stood and had blocked his attack with his or her hands.
Rick jumped backwards and watched the enemy. She wasn’t human. Her skin was silver and she wasn’t bleeding from blocking the sword with her hands. However, she was very fit and perfectly conceived. If she had been human, she used to be a beautiful woman.
In a flash, the woman disappeared as her body was absorbed into Sloan. Rick didn’t understand what kind of power he had, but he sure was powerful.
“Attack them, Elain.”
Her body didn’t give time to any of them to get away. Hopefully, Annya stood up and made a dark barrier between them and the arrows. Fred was outside the barrier, but as long as he was trapped in the bubble, he would be safe. But, smart as a fox, Sloan made a sign to Sheila and she dropped him down.
“Kill him.” he ordered Elain.
She froze. She could never kill him. However, contrary to her will, she locked her target on Fred. Her hands were trembling and her mind wouldn’t let the arrow go.
“Kill him now!”
For her panic, her hand let the arrow go. Fred was staring puzzled at her image, which appeared on the arrow. He couldn’t move at all and he knew her aim was perfect. He closed his eyes to avoid crying.
As he opened his eyes, he saw Cassey holding a sword and the arrow lying in the ground. For Elain’s relief, Cassey was able to run to his direction and, grabbing Rick’s sword, which was in the way, she magically blocked the attack.
Now, it was their time to attack. Quickly, Annya did the same as Sheila was doing and trapped her in a similar bubble, which just couldn’t increase size. Fred called his robot and, together with Ashley, he hurried to take care of Elain, who stared at them trying to be stopped. Indeed, they stopped her. Fred entered his robot and, using his arms, he trapped Elain, which had already been grabbed by Ashley’s ribbon.
One enemy stayed untouched. Rick, Mike, Cassey and Sarith were staring at him, waiting for his attack.
“I feel honoured, so many people came to kill me…” he smiled opening his arms.
Rick ignored his statement and grabbed Thynia tighter.
“You mad people, you will all die…” he warned grinning.
And, with that, Rick advanced towards him, before he could summon the silver lady. But, before she could appear, someone blocked his attack with his sword. When Rick looked at his face, he saw Matt.
“Hello, Seven.”
But, as they landed in the ground once more, Sarith pushed Rick away.
“I must do my duty, right?” she winked at him. “Sloan is waiting for you.”
Rick knew she couldn’t fight by herself with Matt so, he caught Mike’s attention and did a movement. Quickly, Horous transformed himself into the huge monster Rick had originally met, which made Matt a bit scared. And, with Horous behind her, Sarith advanced towards Matt.
Rick was face-to-face with Sloan. He didn’t seem wanting to summon the silver lady at all. Finally, Cassey gave Rick his sword she had used to save Fred, but he grabbed her hand to whisper at her hear.
“You must explain me later how you have such an ability with a sword.” He smiled.
Having said that, Rick decided to strike first. And with a decisive jump, he directed his sword to Sloan, right in his face.

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 48

A/N: Another chappy! Profit it help since we are almost in the end. Did you like Annya’s reappearance?

Chapter 48 – Extra help

“What were you thinking of? Attacking before searching on your opponent?”
Annya was angrier than ever. She didn’t even care to explain her return, so the way back to the temporary camp they had slept in was mostly made with Annya’s lamentations. When they finally got there, Annya sat on the wooden bench and started murmuring.
Mike didn’t loose time. The plan was originally made by himself as they were only counting with two opponents, and not with someone using incredible molecule control. So, he wanted to make up to Rick, by bandaging him once again, after Elain’s attack.
“That hurts...” Rick complained.
Mike ignored him. He couldn’t do better than that, so what was missing? Maybe Rick wasn’t just good enough, maybe he wasn’t the person destined to become Horiond’s champion.
While Mike was busy, Fred was really getting angry with Annya’s complaints.
“Why are you back anyway?”
Annya shut up for a while. “Number 14 has been killed… by magic…”
“Veleniar?” Cassey shouted.
“No, a player’s magic. It is too weak to be a Veleniar’s magician and it is also too strong to be a stranger. It was someone who has been learning magic since a young age.”
To break the silence, Sarith greeted Annya and presented herself. “Sarith here. Call me Fifteen if you want to.” She winked.
And, for everyone’s surprise, Annya truly smiled for the first time in tournament.
“Wow, I didn’t even know you knew how to do that!” Ashley replied, and got tapped short after.
However, Fred still wanted to know her reasons.
“Actualy, I want to avoid more deaths… Number 14’s death is just…”
“Is he really?...” Annya confirmed it to Rick by nodding.Rick swallowed hard. “He was my cousin’s best mate…”
The group silenced for a while. Cassey was looking nervously at Rick and her feet, hoping someone would say something.
“A true act of foolishness… Is that all you are capable of, Rick Flaim?” Annya coldly broke the silence.
Rick was sitting with his back to Annya so that Mike could take care of his wounds. Rick murmured something Annya could not hear.
“Who is that ghost who is always behind you?” she asked obviously bored.
Rick was caught in surprise as well as most players. Rick knew exactly who she was referreing to, buhe didn’t want a person to know.
“Ghost… What ghost?”
Cassey stood up gaining courage. “I always tought it was an illusion but I can see it as well.”
Rick was petrified. The existence of Nick was something no one should ever know and Rick would try hard to make that so.
“Have you had any visions lately? Strange dreams?” That was exactly what had happened. The situation when he saw Kane was in danger, was it provoked by Nick?
Hopefully for him, Fred was particularly worried and didn’t want to waste a second. “So, how will we attack this time?” the question was mostly to Mike, but he kept silence. He didn’t want to make any more errors, which could cost his friends life.
“I’ll take care of the dark bubble maker girl.” Annya replied. “You and Ashley will take care of the arrow girl.”
“Her name’s Elain…” Fred said angrily, causing everybody to look amused at him.
“I can not help but if there is a little thing I could do…”
Rick interrupted Cassey. “Be by my side.” She blushed again, which Rick could not see due to his position. He then continued. “I must take care of the silver-haired guy them.”
“Whose name is Sloan.” Fred added.
“What about me?” Sarith happily asked.
For the first time they had returned, Mike spoke. “Take care of Matt if he appears.”
Finally, Rick stood up, bandaged in his entire chest. “This can be our last battle. Please, do your best.”

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 47

A/N: Getting to the end, people. *claps hands*
Actually, the original version of Fifteen Journey will be a lot different from what I’ve written so far. These last characters will be introduced sooner, so that you don’t forget them, and complicated chapters will turn easier to get. While I’m busy writing… COMMENT!

Chapter 47 - Defeat

“Morning…”
Sheila got up. Her tent was warm due to her body’s warmth so leaving the bed was a rather painful job. However, they were counting on her, so she couldn’t disappointed them.
As she got out of the tent, her blond and long hair flew with the wind. Her brown skin shinned with the sun’s light. She was finally prepared for the day.
Her partner was nowhere to be seen; neither had she wanted to wake her up, since she’d only be rejected. After lighting a fire, she heard some noises coming from the forest, which made her look and check what was happening. For her surprise, a tall teenager rose from his hide spot and spoke to her.
“I challenge you for… Wait, I’ve met you before, haven’t I?” he asked happily.
Sheila took a bit to recognise him. “Rick Flaim?”
“Exactly! What an awesome memory!”
But Sheila wasn’t as cheerful as Rick had originally met her.
“As you were saying…” she impatiently asked.
“Oh, I propose a Tourch’s dispute!”
Sheila smiled. “Accepted!” But she didn’t want to wake Elain up, so she opted to take care of the kids. “Six against one, huh?” she smiled.
Rick smiled in return. “I’m sorry…” And, having said that, Rick advanced towards Sheila to begin his attack. She did not strike or anything, she was just dodging. And with a bigger jump, she ran into her tent.
“Hiding, are we?” Rick grinned.
Suddenly, Rick was trapped in a dark bubble whose size was decreasing. Rick could see his surroundings as the bubble was transparent but he knew that when the bubble reached a small size, he would die. His friends were yelling, telling him to do something gestured by their hands, but he could not hear a thing. Before they could predict, Rick’s friends were absorbed by another bubble. Fortunately, Rick’s bubble stopped decreasing its size, since Sheila was having a hard time controlling both bubbles.
Rick kicked it hard, he tried to distract Sheila, he tried everything he could think of. However, when it seemed it was working, a teenager appeared. He had silver hair, a indifferent face, but Rick could still not hear what they were saying. Suddenly, Rick’s bubble popped and he was out of it, causing an unpleasant arrival in the ground. The silver-haired guy whistled and another feminine figure appeared. Before looking at Rick, she glanced at the other bubble, rather sad. And with a cold voice, Sloan spoke at Rick.
“It’s time for you to die…”
Rick smiled. Dying a second time would not suit him. He wanted to have a proper fate.
While, Sloan didn’t begin the attack, who began it was the girl who was called by the whistle, who used a bow and some arrows. As she used the first arrow, Rick changed its direction with his sword, but wasn’t able to change the second’s, as it made a scratch in his face.
“Stop crying, Elain, or your vision will become blurry.” Sheila warned still concentrated in keeping the other five teenagers’ bubble.
Elain, the bow user, wouldn’t stop crying but her aim was perfect: nine out of ten arrows got Rick, one of the nine was deep in his flesh. Sloan, who had started an invocation before, immediately stopped as he noticed Elain was taking care of Rick. He then turned at Sheila, giving her a ball of power.
“Kill the rest.” He coldly ordered.
After hearing that, Rick lost concentration and only had time to see one arrow coming exactly at his direction.
A cold and dark breeze evaded the place. The arrow was destroyed into dust and the dark bubble popped as well. After the dust rested in the ground, a dark figure, illuminated by the sun, appeared before them. It was Annya.
Before Sloan could invoke someone, Annya made a few power blasts, giving back the dust to the place. Now, a huge barrier was made between Elain, Sloan and Sheila, and Rick and his group.
What was Annya doing here?

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 46

A/N: Now, I don’t know what to write. Oh well, some spotlight for Fred at last. Rock on!

Chapter 46 – Past meeting

Fred was extremely tired. A day had passed since Rick had fought Matt, it was night already, but the group was not capable of doing all the necessary things. First, they had to move from the place they were, so that the player would not know they’re location and, then, they had to ntake care of Rick’s wounds in the back, front and from the battle with Katie where he injured his hand. Mike was the responsible for medical treatment as he was the only one who took that subject at the universal academy, so Fred and the three girls spent almost the entire afternoon collecting plants to prepare some medicine.
Fred’s job was never finished so he had been given the task of keeping an eye on the surroundings for about 3 hours, in case someone would attack. He wasn’t inside his robot but had it near in case it would be needed.
Why was he there at the clod weather? He could be at the fireplace, telling a story to his brothers right now. Instead, she was “serving” a guy who had never done a thing for him. However, he did had create a bond of friendship. If Fred now said to Rick he’d leave, Rick would not accept it that easily. Plus, he had a very good reason to stay.
Suddenly, Fred heard a noise in the bushes and a heavy breath.
“Who’s there?” he asked afraid it would be another Tourch player.
Instead of attacking him, the new presence hugged him.
“I’ve missed you too much… Too much…”
Fred recognised the soft brown hair and hugged her in return. “You shouldn’t be here… I’m serving-“
She looked directly at him. “Rick Flaim, I know.”
“How did you…?”
She lowered her head. “I’m serving a Tourch player as well.”
“Who is him?”
She avoided eye contact. “I cannot tell you, he ordered me not to do so.”
“So know you are following someone else’s orders! That’s not the Elain I know!”
She smiled remembering the old times. But became serious short after.
“Matt told him everything, including the battle you’ve had. Aren’t you hurt?”
Fred nodded negatively.
Elain pushed him closer to her again. Smelling her scent was something Fred had missed for quite a long time, so he stayed like that for a long time. That scent remembered him of the past: their walks in her garden, their adventures, their fights, and, most important, their friendship. Elain was just a few centimetres smaller than him, which she noticed.
“You’ve grown up again, haven’t you?”
“Sorry…” she punched him in the face.
“Stop growing up already! And to think that I used to be taller than you…” but she quickly recovered her smile.
Fred sat in the wooden bench. “Here, take a seat.” She did so. “Want some noodles? My companions made them.”
Elain was suspicious about the veracity of the soup but quickly changed her mind after tasting it.
“It’s wonderful!”
“You should have tasted the soup Mat did for the girls… Have you ever tasted his food?”
She was still eating but she answered quickly.
“No, Matt is usually busy with stuff so we do all the cooking…”
“We?” he asked suspicious.
“Me and another player…” Fred assumed it was the remaining undefeated player. “Well, time is running and I must go…”
“Already?” he asked obviously sad.
She nodded and stood up, looking around for the place she had appear in. “Just one more thing: Sloan is not easy to defeat.”
“Sloan, hem…”
“Yes, please be careful. As for the place he’s in…”

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 45

A/N: Woot! Chapter 45 already! I’m ultra-fast!

Chapter 45 – The Unpredictable

They looked perplexed at Matt like in asking for an explanation.
“If a player orders you to be in his crew, the only thing you can do is obey his orders, right?”
Rick did not know what to say. He had a lot of questions to ask Matt but Fred was the first.
“Where did you get that sword?”
Matt turned at him, like seeing him for the first time. “You could say family treasure…”
Noticing many people had questions to ask, except for Sarith, who was congratulating Rick, and Ashley, who was looking worried at Mike, Matt decided to clear what he had in mind.
“So, I must return and report your location to the guy who is still playing.”
The guy? One guy only? Rick was confused but Matt walked away.
“Wait,” Cassey asked. “Please stay with us!”
He smiled at her. “Sorry pretty blond girl. I must go.” And he kissed her in the cheek, causing her to blush, also provoking Sarith’s giggles. He then turned at Rick.
“I will not wish you luck because I am not willing to your victory. Bye bye all!”
Confused, all the teenagers watched Matt leaving, as the morning sun appeared in the horizon line.

“I am gonna kill you!”
Katie was desperate. Vince had ordered her to collect food for his dragon while he was gathering information on something else he did not tell her about. However that wasn’t the worst: his dragon needed a great portion of food. Painfully, she would bring the food to Mrs. Ride, the name of the dragon. Who’d name Mrs. Ride his pet?
It was dark already, so her job could be finally over. She’d always stick close to the dragon, that way she didn’t need a blanket to warm her up. Vince usually appeared very late at night, so Katie did all the meals by herself. And she was improving.
There was also another great thing about being with Vince, which she couldn’t explain. The feeling of partnership as she had toold him a lot about her and Vince had improved a lot, since he said more things now than before.
But that night she couldn’t sleep, so she waited for Vince’s return. After some minutes of frustration, he finally appeared.
“Still awake?” he asked heading to the food.
“Can’t sleep… What have you found today?”
He looked at her in the corner of his eye while eating some noodles. “A Tourch ex-player.”
“Really?” she asked worried.
He nodded. “I think she was heading to the place where I found magic the other day.”
“Did you get to speak with her?” she asked worried.
“No, she was in a hurry. Anyway, we have nothing to do with that…” he paused for a bit. “Mmm, the noodles are better than usual.
Katie blushed. “Ahm, thanks…”
As soon as Vince finished his meal, he continued his report.
“Actually, I found Rick and the robotics guy the other day.” Katie’s attention was recovered. “They were commenting something on fourth clovers…”
Katie laughed. “Those guys are hopeless…”
Vince looked at the blue moon. “I don’t think Rick will succeed in the games. The amount of magic I’ve tracked lately was enormous; with a sword he cannot beat that.”
“What are you planning on doing?” she asked nervously.
He smiled. “Nothing at all. Just be a normal spectator.”

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 44

A/N: Non stop! *sings*
I don’t exactly know when I’ve posted this chapter, but Fifteen Journey is finished by that time. Now, I’m unbearable. Always speaking about Fifteen Journey. Well, I have to translate it into Portuguese: a writer’s job is never finished.
Why won’t you comment? :(

Chapter 44 – Blade X Blade

The girls didn’t have to chance to say if they agreed or not. Both fencing masters automatically began the battle.
In contrast to Thynia, Matt’s sword and long and slight, and was a doubled sword, which meant he could attack twice, while Rick attacked once. Everytime Rick stroked, Matt would block the attack with one side of the sword and would attack by twisting the sword and using the other side. Rick could only dodge not using his sword but his body.
“Tired already?” Matt grinned after stopping the attack.
“Never.” And with nothing more to add, Rick attacked, which surprised Matt. He succeeded in avoiding any physical damage but profited that moment to attack again. Rolling his sword, Rick had badly cut in the skin, bleeding seriously for the first time in the games. With a doubled sword, he could never win against Matt.
His hand was filthy red, the pain started and his body had weakened a lot. Only the battle with Fred had been this painful, except for his death. He could not die either as he felt responsible for the whole group.
“Giving up already?” Matt was extremely amused.
After putting his hand in the stomach, he could feel the warm blood in the hand as well as a painted hand. He knew he was weaker now. Bradley would not be pleased with his efforts now.
And decided in his mind, Rick turned to Matt. He stroke again but, this time, he used a lot of strength, which made Matt lost control of his sword’s direction. He was still grabbing it, but he could not direct it to Rick, since its trajectory was always being changed. Rick couldn’t also attack him, since his fatigue would always give time for Matt to protect himself with his sword’s help. However, Matt was getting angry and finally took action. With a blast of anger, Matt attacked Rick, causing him to trip into the river. Rick was all wet and could not stand up since he was too heavy as his clothes had absorbed the water. And so, Rick got some few starches.
Fortunately, the water was running faster and faster so Matt tripped as well, giving Rick a moment to stand up, as well as Matt who was more quickly and had fewer scratches. Without losing a single moment, both soaped teens continued their fight.
When Mike arrived, he automatically began arguing with everybody especially at Sarith and Cassey who did not stop Rick from doing what he was doing.
“Look at is face.” Cassey ordered.
Mike calmed down and obeyed. For his surprise, Rick was ultra concentrated, like if this was the battle he had always waited for. Ashley was pulling Mike’s outfit, telling him Rick was bleeding and he should end the battle, but Mike smiled.
“I won’t stop his battle. This means a lot more for him: if his life’s practice was worth or not.”
Fred didn’t know what to think but as he saw Matt’s sword he recognised it.
“Ancient sword…”
Seeing Mike was curious, Fred sat down as well, always looking at the fight.
“That’s an ancient sword. It was used to assassin people; it is extremely easy to use. But I think that is the weakest from all four.”
However, none of them was relieved at all. They knew they could not interfere, but seeing his friend is such a state, would be painful.
Finally, after so many strikes, Rick decided to take a risk and attack him. However, his attack missed the opponent as Matt dodged with his body, which gave him time to hit Rick in his back. Now, Rick was bleeding in his back too, which was making an almost impossible task to get up. But Matt gave him time to do so, since, the more they fought, the more Matt enjoyed the fight. And he wanted to enjoy the moment as much as possible.
Rick could barely do any movement. That sword wasn’t big or particularly powerful but the attacks were rather painful. With Thynia’s help, Rick stood up and looked at Matt. Finally, it was time to end the fight. Rick did not know if this would decide his victory or defeat but giving up now was no choice.
And, for everyone’s surprise, Rick stroke. As soon as Matt prepared his sword for the impact, Rick kneeled down and scratched his legs. Matt shouted of pain, but he couldn’t really stand up as well. And, while Matt was trying to be stand up, Rick stroked like if this was the final blast.
The metal sound echoed in the dark forest. Matt had avoided the attack with his sword.
“Maybe you’re not as good as you think…” he grinned.
Rick smiled back. “I’m not finished yet.”
And with that said, Rick proceeded with the attack. By using his strength, he pulled Matt’s sword closer to its owner, not forgetting the other cable, which he still kept in mind. But Matt was trapped: he had a huge sword pointing at him and he was grabbing his sword, which was behind Rick. They were really close: close enough to feel eachother’s blood.
However, Matt did not give up and pulled his sword closer to Rick, trying to reach his neck. His movement was stopped with Rick’s hand, which grabbed his.
“The battle is over. Give up before I kill you.”
Desperately, Matt used all his strength to push his sword to hit Rick, but Rick was stronger than him, so he’d have to stop that or his hand would have been crushed.
“Allright, you won.” He did not seem sad at all.
Not minding what other could think of him, Mike hurried and checked Matt’s arm ID. It was deactivated.
“You actually won…” he turned at Rick.
Before then could say anything else, Matt grinned.
“I’ve already been beaten.”

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 43

A/N: I hope you had enjoyed the information I posted before. As you can see, we have just entered Sloan’s arc and, I know you don’t understand why it has his name but you’ll soon understand. I won’t say more or I’ll ruin the story.
Just a little comment, pleaza!

Chapter 43 – Eternal Rival

When Sarith arrived, she was perplexed at first. But after seeing she wasn’t being noticed, she decided not to interfere that much and proceeded with the preparations for them to spend the night there.
“Is he a friend of yours?” she asked giggling.
Cassey took her eyes out of the teenager for the first time they’ve met and blushed, embarrassed.
“Th-that’s not it!”
“It what?” Matt asked confused.
Seeing the conversation would just get more confusing, Cassey opted to end it there.
“Let’s eat before it’s too late, shall we?”
Sarith had collected many and varied ingredients. However, as Cassey was the one who had suggested, she felt responsible for its preparation, even knowing she wasn’t endowed with the art of cooking.
As Cassey split the “tasting plate” for the third time, Matt decided it was time to prepare it by himself.
“Here, let me help…” he made the movements grabbing her hands “See, you don’t have to take a big amount, just a small portion.” He tasted some of the soup. “It needs salt.”
In the end, Matt did all the cooking.
“Oh, it’s so good!” Sarith exclaimed of joy.
Cassey tasted it for the first time. Indeed, it was excellent. From Mike and Rick’s meals, this sopu was far better than anything she had ever eaten.
“Is it good?” Matt asked looking worried at Cassey.
“Excellent.” She answered with a slight blush.
Suddenly, they heard some noise in the bushes right next to them. Afraid it would be some kind of wild animal, both Matt and Sarith prepared for the fight: Matt grabbed his doubled sword and Sarith pulled her baton. However, a happy bark saluted them.
“Horous!” Cassey exclaimed. Sarith also recognised the dog as Mike’s pet, but this was the first time she actually heard its name. Together with Horous, two teenagers appeared exaushted, more angry than relieved.
“Where have you two been? We were worried and sick about you!” both Mike and Rick shouted.
Cassey smiled but her smile faded as she noticed Rick and Matt were looking nervously at each other.
“Oh, Seven, this is Matt. Matt, this is Ricky, aka Seven.” Sarith giggled.
In fact, Rick had recognised him from the ceremony. That guys was always wearing a smile. Matt also recognised Rick, but from another place.
“Pleased to meet you.” Matt smiled and gave Rick his hand. He had no other choice but to greet him as well.
However, Mike could only look at Sarith angry. And, not minding anyone else, cleared his thoughts.
“She lead him here, he’s a Tourch player, for sure.”
Matt was a bit perplexed.
“No, you’re wrong. He’s just a guy we met here and invited him to eat with us.” Cassey explained.
Mike’s anger was interrupted as Matt advanced towards him.
“Indeed, I am a Tourch player. And my mission is to defeat other players…” he turned at Rick. “Like you, Ricky.”
“Ahem.” Cassey coughed.
“It’s Rick…” the name’s owner replied, looking angrily at Sarith, who was happily embarrassed.
As Mike wanted to speak again, Matt interrupted him.
“However, I was not sent by her. In fact, this was the first time I ever saw the red haired girl… But I had already seen the blond one…” Cassey blushed.
Matt was being sincere. So, Rick asked Mike to go and look for Fred and Ashley, with Horous’s help.
As soon as Mike left, Rick knew no one else would critisise him.
“I challenge you, Matt.”
He smiled. “I’ve been waiting for this moment…”

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 42

A/N: Here’s another lovely chapter. I’ll soon make you a structure of the “arcs” there are in Fifteen Journey so that you can understand it better. Maybe I’ll have to do more than 60 chapters; I have no idea, only time can tell. And, who knows, maybe I’ll finish Fifteen Journey before 2007 begins!
Together with the arcs, some pictures will appear. Look forward for it!

Chapter 42 – The Midget

The rules were simple. The first group to find a four leafed clover would win the game. All the teenagers were stupefied.
“But that’s impossible.”
Sarith calmed them down, gesturing the movement with her hands.
“Let’s see… Whoever gets it will be lucky, right? What this team needs his luck!”
Sarith then turned to Cassey, who was the person next to her.
“That was the only thing I could think of…” she whispered.
Cassey thought for a moment. Maybe Sarith wasn’t as evil as her mind had made her seem.
“I’ll team up with Number Seven!”
Or maybe not…
They preferred to make the pairs by luck, using sticks. Both Mike and Ashley took the red coloured stick, so they’d team up, together with Horous. Ashley was extremely happy and giggling just like Sarith, but Mike was looking worried at Sarith. No stranger could be trusted that easily and she hadn’t given them any clue she was by their side. Mike’s suspicion even increased after noticing Fred would not be in Sarith’s team. If it were Rick, Sarith could lead him to someone else’s trap. If it were Cassey…
“I’m in Fred’s team.” Rick stated after taking the stick.
… She would be in greater danger since she did not have an art.
“Great. Now the first team to find the midget wins!”
Each team headed in a different way. Cassey wasn’t really decided to follow Sarith but her hand was grabbed and she couldn’t do anything about it. Sarith was singing, as cheerfully as always. Maybe she was a nice person after all. So, Cassey, decided to believe her, started doing the same as she did: searching in the bushes for a four leafed clover.
However, finding such a plant was truly difficult. The two girls opted to eat some apples they had found during the way in the middle of the forest. Cassey felt a bit insecure about being in the middle of the forest but Mike had told them a trick to know the way back.
“This part has a lagoon some metres. When you reach the river, you know you must go the opposite direction, which is the cliff we were fighting in.”
Quite simple.
To scare away the feeling of insecurity, Cassey tried to distracte herself.
“Are you travelling with us for the rest of Rick’s fights?”
Sarith was checking her bag so she took a while to understand the question.
“Yes, yes, until Tourch is over.”
Cassey was curious.
“Why’s that so?”
Sarith lowered her head to look at the ground.
“I can’t go back home like this.” She was obviously sad about something. Cassey predicted her village would not be very happy about her loss but she preferred not to say anything in case she would hurt her feelings.
Although the apples were delicious, some hours later the stomach growled. However, they were extremely hungry and it was very dark, so going back could be impossible. Thanks to what Sarith had brought, they could spend there the night without any problem, but Cassey also knew the guys would worry a lot for them. However, without the sun’s help, they couldn’t move or they could be lost.
They decided to stop near the river Mike had told them about. At least they had water right next them.
“I’m searching for food.” Sarith walked away after smiling and grabbing her baton.
Cassey’s task was easy: unfold the bag and prepare everything to sleep. She had no choice but to trust Sarith. Indeed, Sarith was the only person who could protect her now.
As soon as Cassey finished, she approached the lake and kneeled to see herself reflected in the transparent liquid. She had changed a lot: her hair was messy, her clothes had the traditional aspect of being in a fight.
As she heard some steps from behind, she called Sarith.
“Look at the calm water! You can even see the moon!”
As Sarith didn’t approach, Cassey turned back.
That wasn’t Sarith.
A teenager stood there, looking at her a little surprised. He was handsome: perfect brown hair, dark eyes and a slim body. They gazed at each other for quite a long time until he broke the silence.
“Oh, I thought you were somebody else…”
Somebody else? Who else in the forest had blond hair?
“You look familiar…” she stated.
He smile and nodded affirmatively.
“I met you in a blue mooned night. My name’s Matt Drutond.”

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 41

A/N: As I stated before, chapter 41 didn’t take that long to come out. I wasn’t really inspired to do this chapter but I must say Fifteen Journey is ending. Two more arcs and it’s over… (cries, cries…)
Well, just be sure to actually SAY something. Even just a comment saying “hi”, I’d like that.

Chapter 41 - Secret

“NO!”
As Katie was felling into the cliff’s river, she shut her eyes and remembered her short life: father, brother, her friends, Rick and even Vince. She would have to leave.
“Goodbye…”
“Who are you telling goodbye to?” a man’s voice asked.
She opened her eyes and found Vince looking expressionless at her. She was still grabbing Rick’s sword and was lying in Vince’s arms.
“Hmf, no one.” She said trying to find any other spot to look at.
As soon as they landed, the question appeared. Had Rick won or could the fight be continued? Katie painfully answered the question.
“I’d be dead if you hadn’t helped me…”
Rick looked at her with tender eyes. Cassey’s attention was attracted when Rick approached her with a decided expression. Was he in…? No… or could he?
“Please give me back Thynia.”
Cassey wanted to tap herself from being so stupid. This wasn’t her business after all; she had nothing to do with that… So why would someone feel like that?
Having Thynia back made Rick feel more relieved. However, he couldn’t avoid feeling guilty for Nick’s interference, which could have cost Katie’s life. The other teens were feeling his worry but they’d ask him when they felt it was more convenient.
The innocent voice broke the silence.
“So, will you guys accompany us?” she asked the three ex-players. Sarith, Vince and Katie looked at each other, but Sarith was the first to speak.
“Yes, for sure. You guys will be needing back-up!” she said cheerfully.
Rick was pleased with the idea. Having more people in the “small” team could be troublesome but Sarith’s presence would certainly cheer all up. All except one girl…
However, Katie was still deciding but Vince clearly said his choice.
“Sorry, but we are not accompanying you…”
The most surprised person was Katie. Why had he said “we”? He was counting on her even before asking her?
“Hey, hey…”
“You have a debt to pay, missy.” He spoke only to her, eyes to eyes. “And I’ll be needing your ability.”
Katie thought for a moment. She needed rest, since she had many straches from the battle with Rick, but going with the active player would only cause her more trouble.
She finally raised her hand and spoke loudly to the group.
“I will go with Vince.”
Yes, this was the decided person Rick had met before Tourch’s ceremony.

There was another advantage in having Sarith in the group: she still had plenty of food with her.
That night was special: a commemoration. Rick hadn’t had a second to rest since he had fought Annya and only Mike and himself were able to cook decent food. Although Sarith was not a good cook, she had many ingredients with her, which permitted both to make a typical family’s meal. But when they sat to eat, Rick felt melhancolic again. The more he thought about that day’s events, the more he would feel guilty. He had not control of Nick nor he had predicted that action. He clearly remembered the ghost’s image in his head when he would loose control of some part of his body, the ghost smilling at him from joy. It was like if Nick had pleasure in killing people.
“Rick…” Cassey and Mike started at the same time. However, they were interrupted by Sarith.
“Let’s do a game! It’s called ‘Who gets the midget’!”

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 40

A/N: It took me long enough to make this chapter and I had to wait until I was grounded… I’m so sad… (personality speaking)
Anyway, here’s the so awaited chapter 40. I hope you enjoy it. I really liked doing the last part, the part of the fight: I think that part is quite understandable and you can picture it.
I had to cut this chapter into two parts so chapter 41 is probably coming out in just a few days. If I write this fast when I’m like this, I hope to be grounded many times in my life!
Some things that happen here are related to Sixteen Journey (I think that you can imagine what that is). Please comment on this amazing chappy!

Chapter 40 - Back to ground

"Astral transmission, appear!" Nothing.
"I order you to appear spirit!" No answer.
"Dad! I need you!" 'To fill in this empty feeling...'
Cassey sat on the ground hopeless, partly to hide her face, partly strenghless. Her soul hurt, her mind was becoming blurry. And her dad wouldn't help her...
"Get up girl!" However, Katie's order was effect less and, even with all the strength she was using to make Cassey stand up, Katie wasn't reaching her aim. So, she just stood there looking to the dragon as well. However, she could hear many sounds: Vince whispering, since he was just one or two meters away from her, and a sound coming from the cliff, which Katie supposed as the sound of Fred's robot losing its strength. Where was Rick after all? Had he fallen to the cliff?
Suddenly, a huge blow of wind was made by the dragon as he was using his wings, causing the dust to reach the teenagers' eyes. As quick as a flash, the dragon went down the cliff, bringing Fred's robot in its back. And, as he landed, Rick jumped from the dragon's back, with a smiling Fred and a tired Mike behind him.
"Yay, you did it!" the happiness was too much to retain. His friends touched him to make sure they weren't dreaming, but, indeed, that was reality. However, Mike, who was terribly tired, Vince, who smiled from far, Cassey and Katie didn't participate in the festivities. On the one hand, Cassey didn't know what to think. She stared at the friend, with a blank expression, waiting for his approach towards her. And that didn't take long. For Katie’s repulse, Rick happily kissed Cassey in her check, enabling Cassey to move. Indeed, Katie, for some unknown reason was angry, too angry.
Vince made a few steps to Rick. He could see now: as Vince stared at him, he was able to check he was taller than him by a few centimetres. But, for everyone’s surprise, Vince kneeled before Rick and, looking at the ground, he decided his destiny.
“I shall surrender. You are stronger than me, Rick Flaim.”
If Rick didn’t understand at first, as Vince stated later, Rick could easily defeat Vince since Rick was controlling Vince’s dragon.
Sarith restarted congratulating Rick, followed by a suspicious Ashley. As the boys started discussing methods for Vince to recover his dragon’s control, Katie exploded.
“This isn’t finished, Rick!”
If all the presents, excluding Cassey who was still in the same position, turned to her at first, they continued their doings after Vince’s comment.
“Don’t worry, she has told me that millions of times.”
However, Vince’s statement just made things worse as Katie felt deeply offended with the lack of interest. Without concentrating first, she made all her anger explode in the kick she directed to Rick making him lay down in the floor. She felt relieved at least. Rick, however, really thought it was funny.
“Okay, I will battle you. You have a point, you have never been defeated yet… which will end today…” the smile in his face faded as he unfolded his sword, shining with the sun. At last, he would have a decent fight.
Although her personality was very stubborn, which would make her comical before, she was not an easy enemy to beat, and Rick knew that. Nevertheless, he had in mind she was just a girl, and martial arts would not be a very strong tactics.
However, he quickly changed his mind as Katie first stricken. Although he had blocked her easily, her strength made him move backwards, making some dust fly.
The background wasn’t positive at all. From what Rick had studied of martial arts, the fighter would get stronger and stronger as the fight goes on, since the muscles would heat up. He had to finish that soon.
With that in mind, Rick stroke without stop. If at first she blocked some attacks, she was hit by many of them. Soon, she was tired.
For Mike, seeing his friend battling like this, this was an achievement. No one said anything at all about the fight at the moment as Fred was helping Vince to regain the dragon’s control.
“So, as soon as I have him physically controlled, you’ll have to communicate with him… Vince? Are you hearing?”
“Hm-… yes… and by the way, it’s a she.”
After hearing a intriguing “oh!”, Vince continued keeping an eye in the fight that was taking place. Katie was being hit several times, but she kept fighting. Rick, for instance, couldn’t let her attack more, or he’d loose for sure. However, she just got more and more angry.
Katie was brought to the floor once again. Rick’s breath was amazingly fast and he paused to recover. But, in a flash, Katie re-attacked with all her strength left, using a vertical kick, and, in the next second, Rick was quickly approaching the edge of the cliff. He didn’t fell in the cliff by a few centimetres, gladly. And when Mike thought he should interfere, Katie ran towards Rick to do the final blast, which didn’t give both times to do anything. When Rick thought he would loose, Nick appeared in his mind and time almost stopped. Gaining control of Rick’s left arm diverted Katie out of Rick’s direction, right into the cliff.
For his own surprise, Rick was able to grab his sword and saved Katie, as she grabbed it as well. Rick was bleeding, since he was grabbing the metallically part but the thought of saving a person wouldn’t let him stop the pain.
After being able to chat with Katie, Nick interfered once more. By gaining control of one hand, he let Katie slip.

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 39

AN: Fifteen Journey is back!!! I must conclude this battle and we shall meet some other characters later. Stick here and comment/review.

Fred opened his eyes expecting to see what he had looking for in front of him but he just spotted buttons.
From inside the machine, he could see he had been placed in a nest, almost in the top of a mountain. Mike and Horous were there too, loudly sleeping. His body was also demanding for rest and fresh air, so Fred pressed the exit button and the machine opened itself in its front. After doing some work-ups, Fred headed to the edge of the nest to check the view to the forest. Instead of the characteristic beautiful views of Horiond, he saw a devastated landscape: a huge creature destroying the forest where he had been some hours before. Only in that place, Freed was able to recall last day’s events.
He didn’t have much time to check who was laying in the destroyed landscape as the nest seemed to be moving backwards. Fred’s weight was creating instability, since he was lying on a side causing them to fall directly to the cliff.
“Hands Program, #2, activate!” Fred shouted with worry in his voice.
When they were on the cliff, Fred’s robot corresponded to the owner’s command: lightening itself, it let its arms grow and it managed to grab the cliff’s walls. Fred grabbed one of the robot’s arms, similar with a rope and Mike and Horous had peacefully landed on the robot’s main body.
Once joined with the two sleepy heads, Fred wondered. They hadn’t many chances now: they could climb but that could be difficult since Fred wasn’t that athletic without the robot’s help, who would be aiding Mike.
“Are you okay, guys?” a voice coming from the skies echoed in the entire cliff.
“Yes,” Fred spoke as loudly as he could “What is happening in there?”
No need to answer after the creature passed by them.
“A dragon…” Fred whispered.
Not a normal dragon. This dragon’s moves were out of control. He was still trying to recover its sight and without it, he was insecure and afraid. Rick shared the same feeling.
After checking if Mike and Fred were okay, Rick glanced one more time at the dragon. How could such a big creature be recontrolled? How could they solve this dilemma?
A Vince’s movement made Rick take a look at him. He seemed to have gained control of himself again, looking more confident at his Tourch art flying in the sunny sky.
After looking around probably to see Mike’s brilliant mind, Rick ran to Cassey and, grabbing tenderly her hands, looked directly to her face.
“You’ve had magical creatures’ classes to control the astral transmission… Please, tell me how to control this dragon…” he asked with a warming smile always in her face.
At first, she blushed immensely, but, eventually, let go her hands and placed them on her cheeks trying to chill them out.
“There is a way… but it is quite risky…” she answered looking at the ground.
The other girls were giggling with that conversation, especially Sarith, but Rick did not ignore them. Rick approached the younger girls with his typical smile.
“Can I borrow your weapons?” he asked pointing at the baton and the ribbon.
Ashley was rather surprised. What he could possibly do with two amateur weapons?
“Sure, Number Seven!” Sarith said cheerfully and handed it over to him. “Just don’t make any scratches on it, okay?”
He smiled at Sarith. She could even bring energy in a non-that-happy situation. Rick then turned to Ashley with Sarith smiling behind him.
She was reluctant to give it to Rick, due to the affection she had towards the baton, but many people’s lives were depending on her action… including his.
“Ahem, Rick… Save him, okay?” she let her face dive to watch the grass dancing with that slight breeze. Obviously, she was blushing.
Rick raised his thumb up catching her attention and making her to raise her head. Yes, she was cute… when she smiled.
Finally, Rick headed to the place where Vince and Cassey were staring at the sky. She looked beautiful: she had the slight blush in her cheeks but the sun light was illuminating her blond her, offering a celestial appearance.
‘This is no time to think about this…’
Rick turned to Vince then. He was looking at the sky, his so called home and the place where his best friend was lost. His figure was melancholic; Rick could feel the pain emaning from his pose. His dark sin contrasted with Cassey’s blond hair, but they matched perfectly in the landscape. So would say a couple…
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
Rick’s surprise eventually became a smile. “You are heavier than me, anyway.” However, Rick’s joke didn’t affect Vince the way the sword user wanted. He just wouldn’t stop staring at the sky, wishing his dragon to see him.
Finally, Vince grabbed the baton Rick had placed in the ground. Vince studied it. He had seen Sarith using it, but it was quite a elegant baton: not heavy but strong at the same time. Rick seemed confident: he didn’t need to study the ribbon. The baton was placed vertically to the cliff and Rick was already standing at the top of the baton.
“Let’s do this…” he whispered.
Without expecting, Rick was quickly lifted up by Vince’s strength applied at the bottom of the baton. To avoid falling, Rick grabbed the baton with his hands and freed himself at the highest point. He was flying? What was this amazing sensation?
However, he knew he couldn’t waste time with his futile feelings. As fast as he could, he freed the ribbon and easily grabbed one of the paws of the dragon. The creature felt his presence and started moving, so that Rick would fall, but the ribbon was quite strong. The dragon tried to free itself which made things easier for Rick who profited the balance to jump to the dragon’s back. However, it turned to be even more dangerous as the dragon had felt Rick’s warm skin in his cold body.
“Rick!”
The dragon was insecure and wanted to get rid of him. As soon as Rick took out Ashley’s ribbon of the dragon’s foot, he started a worrying movement balancing to the left and right, even backwards, to let his so-called enemy fall. And, at the next second, Rick had disappeared.

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 38

A/N: Hi again! Here I am, back from holidays. Actually, I’ve been too lazy to write but I must end the story quickly.
I’ve also been thinking and I decided not to write Sixteen Journey in the bloggy. I may write it in my Portuguese blog, I still don’t know. What do you think?
Enjoy this chapter. ;)

Rick was blown with the wind and thrown to the middle of the forest. The dragon had hit him right in the chest.
“RICK!”
This dispute’s perspective wasn’t positive: Rick’s location was unknown to the girls, Mike and Fred were still fainted after the dragon caught them and Katie had a sharpened baton pointed to her neck. Cassey had to do something.
She grabbed Ashley’s hands and picked something in her pocket. Kathelin had to close her eyes, because the powder could blind her but she felt a warm hand grabbing hers. As soon as we got out of the dust cloud, she knew she had to thank Cassey for saving her. But there was no time. An enemy was standing in front of her.
“Vince, I challenge you for a Tourch dispute!” Katie shouted.
He grinned amused. His dragon was already making his move towards her.
Once again, Cassey and Ashley had to lay down due to the dust brought up by the air’s force. Kathelin didn’t even blink: with a quick move, she dodged the dragon’s attack, by turning quickly to the left and managed to reach the dragon’s tail. The creature struggled trying to reach his back but Katie didn’t take long in the dragon’s back: she used it as a spring-board to reach the other side of the cliff, where Vince was watching. She almost fell in the cliff, but the thruth was that she was safe. Once stood up, she looked up at the place where he was watching. His grin was making her angry: how could he?
Moved by ferocity, Katie climbed the little mountain to reach her enemy. She had the motivation to do so, and she reached him easily.
‘Xin maguai. One foot ahead. Raise head and accord hands with your soul.’ She remembered her master lessons…
Katie started the attack.
‘Bird pose.’
She was using all her power to hit Vince. All the tricks she had used so far must be used for this occasion. But her hands didn’t seem to reach the enemy. Vince was dodging the attacks with a serious expression this time.
‘How can he do it?’
However, after four or five tries, in an instant, Vince jumped to the sky: back to his dragon’s chest. The next order Vince gave telepathically to his dragon was attacking Katie.
But she jumped as well. To be right in front of Vince.
He was dead serious by now. His dragon flew backwards causing Katie to fall. Back to the dust, back to the place where Sarith and Ashley were fighting. At least she would have a quick death...
However, death would have to wait. Kneeling, Rick caught flying Kathelin. His bruised and scratched face managed to show a warming smile.
“You’re okay?”
“I should be the one asking it!” Katie softly punched him.
He left her in the floor and watched the scenery. Only Cassey could reattribute the look as Ashley was still fighting Sarith. However, Cassey hadn’t a calmed look.
“Dragons are impossible to beat.” She said as calmly as her nerves permitted.
Rick froze. All the schemes he had been doing and planning to beat Vince were impossible? His world of options was impossible? His dream was impossible to fulfil?
“No.” he turned to Cassey “I’ll fight.”
“Idiot, I studied magic creatures…” she whispered.
Too late, Rick had already flown to beat Vince. He unfolded Thynia and headed to the edge of the cliff. Soon enough, Rick quickly placed Thynia in the last centimetre before the big fall and used it as an impulse to go to the other side. But instead of climb the mountain, Rick headed to the place where the dragon had left his friends. To save Fred and Mike.
However, Vince wasn’t happy with Rick’s decision. The dragon was heading to battle Rick.
As an answer, Rick raised his hand to the dragon’s head and summoned his golden power. A small ball of power collided in the dragon’s head, making him panic. Rick would have more time.
He was about to reach his friends when he saw Vince staring at him blocking his way.
“Defeat me if…”
However, Vince was interrupted by the girls’ screams. The dragon was blind and was destroying everything, hoping his vision to come. It was out of control.

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 37

“You will stay here, is that understood?”
She got out of the chair as soon as her mother left the kitchen. She didn’t like to disobey her mother, but the pan was bothering her. As she had gone to the cereal field, she saw a boy playing with a ball alone. “Wanna play?”
For the first time of her life, she smiled. However, she sensed smoke. As she raised her head to her house, she saw the fire consuming it.
The boy ran in the fired house direction. The girl tried to catch him, but her legs weren’t strong enough. The flames were getting higher; it seemed someone was laughing at her. The red colour, lively red, she would remember for the rest of her life. She called the boy, but he never got to get out of the building.
Neither her family.

Annya woke up. She had been having that kind of dreams for too long. However, time wouldn’t wait for her, so it was time to continue her journey.
A strong power sensation had been evading her. That aura was higher in the area she was heading for and the idea of meeting another magic user player pleased her.
She did not take long until she reached the aura. Aura was what magicians called a field of use of power. It used to be circular and entering in another’s aura could be taken as a crime. This one did not emit a great power, it seemed that the magic user had passed here a long time ago. Maybe some days ago. Thinking of it, Tourch had started on a week and a half and so many things had already happened.
Exiting the forest, she entered the powerful glade inside the aura. However, all she saw was devastation. A destroyed village, destroyed dreams…
She wondered in the desperate lands. She was trying to find survivors, but she wasn’t even able to find corpses. Maybe the village’s citizens managed to survive and ran away. But finally, she saw a corpse.
Looking to it, she knew from afar there was no hope for the young man. His pale face showed panic and dismay. Yes, he had been killed with magic. Annya only understood the reason when she noticed a number in his arm. He was a Tourch player.

Kane sensed a hand catching him. A cold hand, trying to hurt him. Kane screamed while the hand was penetrating his flesh.
“Kane!” Kate’s childish voice echoed from far after hearing the cousin’s scream.
The judge was approaching. Kane was sure of that.
Nearer and nearer…
“KANE!!!”
It passed in a flash. However, before mysteriously appearing save in the place he had entered the building, he knew he had seen the judge’s face: an evil grin turning into a painful expression. He only understood with the judge let him go when he stood up.
“What’s wrong?” young Kate asked.
Kane couldn’t easily stand up. After trying to do so, he fell abruptly in the floor.
“My… my leg…”
Kate removed the clothes protecting his leg for clothes. What she saw was his skin red, lively red. If he was warmed, he’d start to bleed.
“It hurts so much…”
“Hang on, I’m taking you to daddy.” Kate replied and put his arm in her shoulders. She was little but made her efforts. However, it was not long when the judge’s security guards appeared. They were surrounded.
“Now, now, little girl. Surrender nicely…” the leader replied with a childish tone. She stood up trying to cover Kane.
However, she had to close her eyes. A huge blast of wind came to her face bringing dust. When she was able to check the scenery, she saw a mysterious character in a cape. As for the security guards, they were in the floor without senses.
“Let’s go, Kate.” The stranger replied.
“You know my name?”
Bradley smiled. She had already forgotten him.
But Kate did not risk disobeying; she ran and accompanied Bradley always warning him the best path to choose. Their goal was to reach Kate’s father, he’d know where to hide from the judge. Bradley lifted Kane the whole path and eventually he collapse. The pain was too much to endure.
However, something was wrong. Many people seemed agitated next to the ceremony’s stage while knowing the news.
“Kate, Kate!” a kid approached her.
“What’s happening?” she asked him.
“You are not going to believe this…”
Kane woke up.
“What’s wrong?”
He swallowed the following words.
“Number 14, he’s dead!”

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 36

A deep cliff was standing beneath his feet. A mountain holding him. The cliff separated him from his enemies. He had already reached its end and found a river. However, no normal being was able to get there and come alive but he had his aids. Now, what would the tricky future reserve to him? A girl approached.
“What are you thinking of, master?” she giggled with curiosity.
“Nothin’, really.” The dark skinned adult answered. “Have you found them?”
She happily grinned. “But of course! Anyway, there is no need to worry, they are coming towards us… guided by her.”
“So, Rick Flaim has already done that part of the job for me, huh?” he laid in the stone warmed by the morning sun and looked at the other side of the cliff. In those woods, they were waiting to begin the attack.
Sarith just smiled to her master. This was far better…

“I can feel it, we’re coming closer…”
Kathelin was leading the expedition until the enemy. It had to be settled right there. Rick was finally decided to beat Sarith once and for all. He could not risk a thing after the dream he had had with Kane. Something weird was happening. And they were mere puppets.
“It’s here.” The guide led them to the cliff where the battle against Sarith had taken place. The 12 hour sun blinded them so Rick couldn’t see the place where Kathelin was pointing to. But her warnings made him realise Sarith, their enemy, was there.
Still hiding his face from the sun, Rick heard Mike’s signal. The plan had started.
Horous was called and the mutant dog appeared once more. Fred entered his robot and Mike rode in Horous’s back and they were able to pass the cliff to get Sarith. None of them was able to check where Sarith was, due to the sun, but once they had passed the mountains, they could see her hideout.
Finally, Rick was able to see Sarith’s shape towards the sun in the top of the mountain. But another shadow stood next to her. Who was that male?
“Fred, Mike, there! She’s-”
A big and violent wind stroked against the remaining members in the opposite side of the cliff. Rick also felt a smelly and hot breath. As soon as the wind had vanished, he looked in front of him. Sarith was smiling and grabbing her baton. A battle was about to start.
“Welcome, to my stage… Rick.” A male’s voice was heard.
Rick looked up and was finally able to see a dark coloured young adult. Next to him, a big creature was grabbing his fainted friends.
“Mike! Fred!”
For Rick’s surprise, Kathelin made her chess move.
“Vince…”
“You can’t run away, Katie…”
“Stop calling me that!” she threatened the opponent.
Kathelin looked at the companion’s confused expressions. “How do you know…?” But she did not permit Rick to finish his sentence. She grabbed Ashley and Cassey’s hand and started running into the deep wood. “Let’s retreat. Come, Rick.”
But it was too late. With a quick jump and agile movements, Sarith stood right in front of the wood’s entry and placed her baton in Kathelin’s neck. She was still smiling.
“Let’s settle this here, Rick Flaim.” The dark coloured adult replied.
Rick turned around to face him. Yes, it was time to end it.
Cassey made her speech. “That creature…” No doubt, it was really it. The huge dragon made a quick move towards Rick. No way to stop him.

Fifteen Journey - Chapter 35

Their way back was made with silence. This was far serious than Rick thought and his eyes were still burning but that was something he could not say to his partners, not to make them worried. After all, that was his nature, since no one else could solve his problems except him.
“Are you alright?”
Rick nodded to Ashley. He hated lying but that was all he could do. Even wanting to change his facial expression, he wasn’t able to do so.
Although he could not almost open his eyes due to pain, Rick knew where his friends were. He was walking near Fred’s robot carrying Fred inside to pilot and the hurt body Cassey had been grabbing. Mike was leading the group with Horous, he could hear the wise’s voice and Horous’s footsteps. As for the rest, Cassey and Ashley, they were walking slowly and with Cassey’s rhythm. Rick wasn’t able to check her expression because his eyes did not give him enough time.
Almost blind, Rick was sat in a fallen tree. Later, he sensed the heat of a liven fire in front of him. Fred and Mike’s voices were heard.
“Lay down Rick” Mike ordered him.
“I’m okay…”
“Just do it.” Rick did not disobey. After all, Mike was his friend.

A black room, a shadow in the ground, his whisper.
“I’m not dead yet…”

His eyes opened. And it did not hurt as much as before so Rick could finally bring some energy… if he knew where he was… After a few steps, his tired feet sensed something. Touching the ground, a corpse. “What?”
But he recognised that breath. Cassey was sleeping. And she had a great body…
“What are you doing, pervert?” Rick got away. Had she waken up?
Eventually, she came back to her normal breath. ‘Weird dreams she’s having…’
Then, he saw light in the end of the dark. As he approached the light, his eyes hurt once again, but, this time, it was due to the sudden appearance of light. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw her. The hurt girl, also known as a girl he had seen somewhere before the ceremony.
She looked at him not showing any gratitude expression. Just as cold as she could act.
He sat right in front of her, sometimes hidden by the fire red flames. Her body was full of bandages and unhealed scratches. But her face did not show pain.
“Are you alright?” Rick asked before regretting that action. She answered him with a glare.
They kept silenced for a while. Mike had saved some food for Rick so he attacked it without hesitation.
“Here, take half.” He offered the girl looking at him.
“Not hungry.” But her stomach betrayed her. The growls were too loud to hide. “Maybe I’ll take it…” she blushed while Rick was smiling from victory.
“Pretty, huh?”
The girl join Rick’s gazing at the skies. The stars upon them shined as the day of the Petals Ceremony, a blessing.
“Say, what happened to you?” Rick started.
She sighed. “I had been attacked a long time ago, ever since I found the enemy. Now he won’t let me rest…”
“She is really agile…”
“Yes, very endowed to her art…” her expression had saddened now. “What happened after I fainted?”
“I can’t tell exactly what happened but that Sarith appeared… and Cassey did not let go off you… so we had to bring you.” Rick lightened his smile again.
“Cassey?” she seemed panicked as she stood up. “As in Cassey Lane?”
“Yeah, how do you know?”
“You are enemy!” she shouted. “And you are her ally or…” she interrupted. In her eyes, Rick could see her memories coming to her mind. The day of the Petals Ceremony. He was another player.
Without hesitating, the girl took position as a fighter. Kenea, it was called. A body-to-body art.
“… Flaim, isn’t it?” she asked.
“Yes.” Rick was about to take out his sword when he heard the sound of footsteps. Cassey had come out of the cave where they were sleeping.
“You! You were the one I save.” Kathelin Sumora was her name. Rick had recalled it.
But he wasn’t in the same spot anymore.
“Right behind you… Kathelin.”
Her hands were dragged to behind making impossible a single movement. Even with struggling and kicks from behind, it seemed effect less.
“What do you want?” she asked as coldly as before.
“Not a fight. Not this night.”
She calmed now and caressed her wrists. All her wounds were hurting more now.
“Are you alright?”
Kathelin looked up. Cassey was right there, ready to help. Anytime… It was a payback.
Rick returned to his warm sit, joined his hands and closed his eyes. Cassey helped Kathelin to return to her sit as well and looked concentrated at Rick. What was he thinking?
After some minutes watching the red flames, Cassey noticed Rick’s opening eyes movement. And with a confident tone, he stepped forward in the road of destiny.
“Let’s beat our enemy. Then, we’ll fight, Kathelin.”
